Vitalius (70) and Albinas (85), after 52 years of shared life, solidified their bond this spring in a humanist wedding ceremony, witnessed by a record number of people in history – over 20,000. Having received such immense public support, the men dared to share their love story with everyone – yesterday, the MO Museum hosted a screening of the short film „Vitalius and Albinas. A 52-Year Love Story“. Domas Peštenis, who created the documentary short film about the couple's story and marriage, expressed his hope that this love story will be a turning point, encouraging faster changes in both society and politicians' agendas.

„It is regrettable that we are European outsiders and still divide our country's citizens into equals and more equal. This cannot and should not be. And for those who think otherwise, I would recommend watching this film. It would be difficult to find a person whom this story would not touch or leave indifferent,“ said the creator. During the discussion „We have this here. What has changed in 52 years?“ which took place after the film's premiere, its participants unanimously agreed that changes are happening in society, but political leadership is lacking.
The discussion, moderated by Jūratė Juškaitė, emphasised that very important elections await us in the autumn, which will determine whether all families in the country will be protected and have equal rights. The organisation „Happy Person“ ensured that visitors to the „MO Museum“ in Vilnius could also familiarise themselves with the unique love story of Vitalijus and Albinas and the humanist marriage certificate. For over a month, until the film premiere, photographs and a copy of the marriage certificate with signatures were exhibited in the museum, and visitors were invited to listen. sensitive radio documentaries About the history of Paris.
