PETITION REGULATIONS

General provisions

1.1. These Petition Rules (hereinafter – the Rules) establish the procedure for the creation, signing, public display, administration, support of petitions, and the use of funds collected on the website hia.lt (hereinafter – the Website).

1.2. Petitions published on the website are initiated, prepared and submitted by Ambassador of Humanist Ideas, Public Institution, a non-governmental organisation (legal entity code 305485539, address V. Nagevičiaus g. 3, LT‑08237 Vilnius, email labas@hia.lt) (hereinafter – the Organisation).

1.3. The Website does not accept third-party petitions. All petitions published on the Website are initiated by the Organisation and reflect its issues, position, or objectives.

1.4. By signing any petition available on the Website, the individual confirms that they have read these Terms and Conditions, agrees to them, and undertakes to abide by them.

2. Content and purpose of the petition

2.1. Each petition shall clearly state:

  • Petition subject and purpose;
  • The institution, organisation or entity to which a petition is addressed;

2.2. By signing the petition, the signatory:

  • agree with the content of the petition;
  • agrees to his signature being included on the petition signature list;
  • agree that a petition with a list of signatures should be submitted to the institution or organisation specified in the petition.

2.3. The Organisation reserves the right to edit the description of the petition, provided that the essence or purpose of the petition is not altered (e.g., grammatical corrections, technical clarifications).

Signature of the petition

3.1. The following data is collected when signing the petition:

  • Name – publicly visible;
  • Surname – publicly available shortened form (first letter of surname only);
  • Email address - not publicly displayed, used to confirm a signature;
  • Type of stopping publicly visible.

3.2. A petition signature is considered valid only after confirmation. After completing the form, the signatory receives an email at the specified address with a unique, one-time confirmation link.

3.3. Until confirmation is completed, the signature is invalid and is not included in the petition's signature list. An unconfirmed petition application is stored for a limited time and is automatically cancelled if not confirmed within the set period.

3.4. The same email address can only sign the same petition once. If the same email address is submitted again, the system will inform you that the petition has already been signed with this address.
