Everything, from your guests' transport, accommodation, food, décor, and even your dress or the groom's suit, contributes to greater CO2 emissions into the environment. 😰 Don't get us wrong, we're not saying you should get married without a ceremony, but there are things you can do to make the ceremony more eco-friendly without compromising the aesthetics of the celebration. 🤔 Creating a nature-friendly ceremony doesn't really cost much and isn't very complicated. 🌱 Rent as much as you can. Nowadays there are plenty of companies that rent out all sorts of decorations or equipment for parties, so it really doesn't pay to waste money buying them. Think about when you'll next use 50 peach-coloured chair covers? 🤷♀️
Second-hand clothing. It's not only a great example of eco-friendliness but also a very fashionable trend at the moment. You can find beautiful pre-loved dresses or suits at a low price in specialist shops, or in the wardrobes of relatives or friends. If you don't want a garment that has already been worn, opt for materials that are recyclable or produced in an environmentally and human-friendly way.
🌱 Don't send paper invitations. Save paper and your budget by sending electronic invitations via email or create a free, personal website for your celebration with all the information, where you can later upload photos from your event for guests to view. 💻 If you really want paper invitations, choose recycled paper.♻️
🌱 Do it yourself. You can certainly make some elements of the ceremony yourself or ask loved ones for help. 🤝 Just use sustainable, fair trade, or recycled materials to reduce your CO2 footprint.
Don't throw away what can still be used. After a celebration, you can collect decorative items you purchased, such as flowers, and use them to adorn your home or give them to loved ones who enjoy plants, who will surely be delighted.
Choose suppliers closest to you so that your rented and used items and ordered services travel as little as possible.
